Nepetella
This aromatic herb is also called nepitella, nepetella, nepeta. It is similar to mint in aroma and among other properties, regulates the intestine and helps to maintain the well-being of the whole body. Both the flowers and the leaves are used; the whole plant is, however, rather aromatic. Its leaves are ovate, with the margin that can be slightly notched. The flowers are single and showy, violet in colour.
IN YOUR CUISINE: Always present in soups, including the famous Tuscan bread soup, is also used to flavor meat, fish, mushrooms and especially artichokes.
